English Country Gardener is a family-run landscape design, installation, and garden care company based in the Comox Valley.
Led by Joe Spiers, an experienced gardener trained through the Royal Horticultural Society, we bring together horticultural knowledge, skilled craftsmanship, and a deep appreciation for well-designed outdoor spaces. From complete garden transformations to patios, pathways, planting, and ongoing care, we create gardens that look beautiful, work naturally with the property, and continue to thrive for years to come.

Meet Joe & Annalisa
Joe is the owner, head landscaper, and lead designer behind English Country Gardener. Originally from England and trained through the Royal Horticultural Society, he brings more than a decade of hands-on experience—and a lifelong love of plants and gardens—to every project.
Joe believes every garden deserves an individual approach. Whether he is beginning with a blank space or restoring an established garden, he takes the time to understand the property, the people who live there, and how they hope to use it. His work is grounded in strong horticultural knowledge, careful craftsmanship, and the belief that a garden should become more beautiful with time.
Alongside Joe, Annalisa manages the client experience—from the first inquiry through scheduling, project coordination, and ongoing communication. Together, we make sure every project feels organized, collaborative, and personal from beginning to end.
